UPDATE ON OUR SLIDE PROBLEM

Abilene TX (Low 32 Rain and Clouds High 40)

Abilene experiences the BWE, last night was 12 degrees below normal and tonight will be a hard freeze 22 degrees below normal.

The mobile tech looked at our slide motor late yesterday and determined we need a new one. Delivery time is about a week so we still are not sure when we will be leaving. Gives us time to see the sights, but not today since it will be cold and rainy. Today we plan on seeing "Last Vegas" and eating out.

There are at least a couple neat things to see in the area, Frontier Texas, and the Buffalo Gap Historical Village. If we have more time there are a few others that look interesting, proving that no matter where you in this great country of ours there is always something to see and do and great places to eat.

We will end with a preview of our future blog entry on our new MCD day/night shades and our new solid wood valences.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. When our slide didn't work, Paul got under neath the rig and looked at it. Because the motor had become lose, it had slipped and got disengaged from gear. He just tightened it up, and it is fine. He read a ton about it on the forum. Not saying the guy is trying to rip you off just something to think about.

  2. Hope it doesn't take too long to get that slide fixed. You guys have been in the old for way too long. We loved Last Vegas. Saw Captain Phillips yesterday - WOW!

  4. So far it has not been the travel expenses we have found to be to high, it has been the repair costs. I guess it is all part of the picture.
