ON THE ROAD AGAIN TO GOLDEN COLORADO (AND A TRUCK UPDATE)

Currently in Golden CO (Low 57 Sunny High 87)

As you can probably tell we got the truck fixed and it worked great on our trip to Golden Colorado. Fixed, but at a great cost. The high pressure fuel pump failed and it is an expensive fix because it is not a cheap part and takes about a 12 hours to complete the job. We are thankful that Columbine Ford in Rifle, although very busy, worked us in on the first day that we called and completed the work before we had to leave for Golden.

Another scenic drive with the roaring Colorado River right next to the road, snow capped mountains, high passes and a tunnel at over 11,000 feet.

It was approximately 170 miles to Golden Colorado, this was the route we took.

We are staying at Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden and will be here a week.

We have a few blogs from our stay at Rifle Gap State Park so stay tuned.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. A 12 hour job. Wow. That's like when we had to replace our injectors. $$$$$ But we gotta have those trucks running. We are in Monticello, UT right now waiting for the wind to go away. 60 mph gusts. Hopefully tomorrow we can get on the road again and head further north. Have a good time in Golden.

  2. We enjoyed our month's stay in Denver. If you don't try any other place, you must not miss the Taste of Denmark Bakery. I wish I could have parked our rig for the whole month in their parking lot. I kid you not.

  3. I recently had my Low Pressure Fuel Pump replaced near Sedona, AZ. At the time the mechanic commented that it least it wasn't the EXPENSIVE high pressure pump. I'm really uncomfortable with my truck now with all the problems being reported. I looked at other trucks but man are they expensive!!!
