KALISPELL MONTANA AREA FOODIE UPDATE

Currently in Kalispell MT (Low 49 Cloudy Currently 56)
Heading to St. Mary MT (Currently 60 Cloudy with Storms High 81)

Like our friends Paul and Margery from Living Our Dream do sometimes our sightseeing just involves food. This week in Kalispell has been about food. We found a couple of gems. First is Loula's Cafe in nearby Whitefish Montana. We had the best eggs benedict we have ever had, maybe it was the white truffle hollandaise.

The first meal Jo had the stuffed french toast

which was excellent but the next meal she had the eggs benedict. What surprised us was how good the grits were, we are talking no doctoring needed on these grits, also the best we have ever had. We have added both the grits and the eggs benedict to 'Our Favorite Things! - Food' list on the left of our blog.

Their desserts were good so we got a wild huckleberry-cherry pie to go to sample down the road.

Next up on our foodie tour is the Knead Cafe in Kalispell.

We got some of the best scones we have ever had, wild huckleberry with a lemon curd sauce. Wild huckleberries are in season can't you tell? We also got some Flathead Cherries while here.

It amazed us how much they could do and how good it was considering the size of the kitchen. We swear we may have more counter space in our Cameo.

Imagine eggs benedict with a beer cheddar sauce instead of hollandaise and you have the welsh eggs that the Knead Cafe served and they were excellent and added to 'Our Favorite Things' also. If we can't sightsee we can at least eat :-)

We are heading to St. Mary Montana today on the east side of Glacier National Park, Lord willing and the slideout comes in.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo
