Currently in Peculiar MO (Low 48 Showers in the Morning High 58)

Bob felt like he won the lottery when he finally got the ringing tone instead of the busy tone or the 'all circuits are busy' message. Yesterday was the first day you could make reservations at the City of Houghton RV Park in Houghton Michigan. Here is an image from their website.

We have found that once the summer months hit all the RV part timers fill up the campgrounds so you need to make reservations. It took Bob awhile, actually 496 phone calls on each phone. Jo actually won the lottery as it was her phone that got through on the 497th attempt on her phone. The camp host greeted Bob with "congratulations on getting through" and we made our reservation. Here are a couple of photos from our recent stays.  The view out the back window.

Sunsets are great

The Lift Bridge can be seen from out site.

We look forward to taking photos with our new Lifestyle. We will be there a month and a half and are looking forward to our return visit.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. That is a lot of phone calls:) Glad you got a spot.

  2. Congratulations on your tenacity! Your month and a half stay will make your effort worthy of every re-dial button you pushed! How exciting anticipating getting your new Lifestyle. Moving into a new rig is a bear, but the reward for your perseverance is worth it!

  3. Wow, how did you count those calls? I would have loss count around 8 or 9. Great place, enjoy and safe travels.

  4. We are traveling a lot this spring and summer, but I too have been making lots of reservations far ahead.

  5. Congratulations!!!! I haven't made any reservations yet but we really aren't traveling to any big hotbed of tourists.

  6. Way to go you two. I remember photos you posted before of that lovely area.
