WALK ALONG WITH BOB - LONG BEACH EDITION

Currently in Long Beach WA (Low 52 Cloudy then Clearing High 64)

Cloudy in the morning then clearing as the day goes on seems to be the norm for weather here lately. While it was cloudy yesterday we went to Astoria for lunch and shopping. Lunch was at the Silver Salmon Grille that the Weavers had recommended and it was wonderful, best clam chowder we have had this trip. When we got back it had cleared up and we walked along the beach.

Come along with Bob for his morning walk. Here is the path to the beach just steps from our RV.

The path along the way.

The ocean comes into view at about 1/10th of a mile from our RV. At 1/4th mile your feet start getting wet.

Very long beach in either direction.

Bob heads one direction to about 1.5 miles total and then turns around.

This is a beach that you can drive on and you will see a lot of vehicles.

Heading back to the park.

After a while the park comes into view.

Then it is home sweet home after 3 miles. We like the backin site, we have a lot of evergreens, the cats just love sitting on the couch and looking out.

If it clears off today we plan to visit Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. We are trying to learn how to time the clear portions of the day.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

NOTE: photos from our stay in Newport Oregon have been added to the Newport OR 2014 set on Flickr.

  1. Just loved that beach. So very different from the East coast. Enjoy the lighthouse. Another great one.

  2. We need to get back to Andersons! Love the beach, especially the path through the dune grass! Can you "see" Bandit running down the path?
