Houghton MI (Low 43 Partly Sunny High 64)

Rise of the Machines and they don't like us.

It has begun, SkyNet is forming and all of our machines are turning on us. Bob's Motorola Droid 3 smartphone is rebooting about every 8 hours and is slow. This morning it did not have location services so during Bob's walk he heard from the RunKeeper app; Time 10 minutes, Distance 0.0 miles, Average Pace 0 miles per minute. At least the clock worked so he knew he walked for 35 minutes 27 seconds.

If that was the only problem we could mark it off as an old phone that needs replacing. But our DirecTV system is on the fritz as we reported earlier, probably a bad SWM8 switch that we are getting a new one in a few days. Jo's HTC Incredible smartphone is much newer than Bob's but is also starting to run slower especially on Words With Friends and on WiFi for some reason.

Our Kindles are also a little flaky and the battery life on all of our devices is atrocious. They must have to be plugged into power to do their nasty networking.

The Rise of the Machines has begun,

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. Oh dear...sounds awful. There must be something in the air in Houghton, MI.

  2. Amazing isn't it, how these machines are taking over our lives and how dependent we become on them. I know I am.
