SILVER DOLLAR CITY NEAR BRANSON MISSOURI

Currently in Hollister MO (Low 63 Partly Sunny High 87)

Warning: this post contains what some may consider non-politically correct, and for that we do not apologize.

Jo's brother and his wife have seasons passes to Silver Dollar City, a 1880s theme park located near Branson Missouri. With season passes comes with 2 free 1 day passes so they let us use them.

We got there early in the morning in time for the flag raising ceremony.

We all stood and first said the 'Pledge of Allegiance' then we all sang the 'National Anthem'. Considering all the hoopla with the NFL and the Kansas City Chief's Marcus Peters and the 'National Anthem' it was so refreshing to see such patriotism. It has gotten so bad with the NFL that we are seriously considering canceling our NFL Sunday Ticket package and not watching any NFL games this week.

We then walked through shops and attended a couple of gospel music shows, it was the Southern Gospel Picnic while we were there. We then had a great buffet at the 'House of Chicken and Fixins'.

While we were exiting we of course had to walk through the gift shops. Jo found the neatest t-shirt

Pretty appropriate since Jo is a Christian and a happy camper as a full-time RVer.

We are not going to apologize for our belief in Christ and that we stand for the flag and kneel for the fallen and sit only when tired after climbing the hills in Silver Dollar City. After all the crap on the news it felt good to be among people of the same mindset.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. The pledge and National Anthem always make my heart swell. We did cancel our NFL Sunday ticket. I'm not going to pay to watch them disrespect my country.

  2. Branson is one of our favorite places; we've gone there many times, but we haven't had great luck with stellar places to eat (we could be a bit too picky). I'm so glad you stand up for the faith and patriotism; more of us should do that. That's why I always include the short prayer at the end of each of Phannie and Mae's blog posts. We should never be ashamed of the Gospel.

  3. One thing we find as we travel among RVer's is that their thoughts are much the same. God and Country. Nice group to be among.

  4. No one should ever apologize for being a follower of Jesus, Our Savior! I love that shirt too, Jo.
