REVIEW OF DOWNTOWN RIVERSIDE RV PARK IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS

Currently in North Little Rock AR (Low 62 Light Fog Currently 64)
Heading to Texarkana TX (Currently 67 Sunny to Partly Sunny High 87)

Our GPS devices agreed on the route and brought us right to the area. Although once you get through the narrow concrete gate it is a little confusing where the park entrance is the first time. Checkin was easy and friendly. The park roads are asphalt and the sites are concrete which we appreciated during the heavy rains from Tropical Storm Harvey we got while here.

This park also does site layouts for the pull-thru sites like we wish more parks did, especially when they have a water feature like river or lake. The pull-thru sites are bi-directional, by that we mean that both a fifth wheel (rear window viewing) and a motor home (front window viewing) can use the same spot. For our pull-thru we pulled in from one side with our back window to the Arkansas River. Here is a view out our back window.

A motor home would pull in the opposite side of the pull-thru. Some of the sites along the river as shown in the above picture are backin which works great for a fifth wheel and some are pull in which works great for a motorhome. Once in the concrete level sites hookups were very convenient since there were a lot of them. The sites were a little closer together than we would like but doable. The park had free wifi which was good for free park wifi. The Verizon cellphone and 4g signals were strong in this area. The park is Passport America for 3 nights a month but only in the backin sites.

Here is the Lifestyle from the front.

From the rear.

Although it is basically a glorified parking lot with hookups we would stay here again hopefully in better weather and utilize one of the riverfront backin sites which you can use Passport America for 3 nights a month. There is a lot to see in the area which the weather put a damper on for this trip. Oh well, always have to leave something for the next time.

Bob's cousin Anita saw that we were in the area and we were able to see her and her partner last night for a great night of conversation and good food. Bob and Anita got to talking and realized it was probably 25 years or so since they had seen each other. We ate at the Diamond Bear Alehouse which for the beer drinkers has really good beer and root beer for the nondrinkers. For the foodies it also has really good food. We came back to the park and had strawberry rhubarb pie that we bought frozen in Pagosa Springs Colorado. We topped it off with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. A great time had by all.

We'll leave you with a photo of the Rock Island Lift Bridge all lit up.

We depart today for Texarkana TX.

Till next time,

Bob and Jo

  1. Thank you for the information on the RV Park. We will be heading through there in a couple months and it looks like a perfect stop. Especially with the bridge view. Keep on traveling safely.

  3. This is where we usually stay in LIT; it has a lot going for it. By the way, we have good friends who swear by Scottie's Grill in Texarkana. I haven't tried it, but they are pretty adamant that we should. I have to withhold judgment, of course, until I try it. I think I would trust a good foodie like you, though. Just a thought.

  4. We stayed there for 3 nights and walked the bridge daily. Enjoyed the Clinton Presidential Library at the end of the bridge. We met a seemingly nice couple but when we mentioned we had been to the library she spat towards it. My Texas union electrician husband told her she should be ashamed of her behavior and they scampered away. You can't blame young folks for their bigotry- just look at their family examples.
