The nice thing about the neurostimulator implant that Jo had for her back pain is that it is permanent. As the healing process went on the neurostimulator had to be adjusted and as time goes on periodic adjustments are needed. For her neck pain Jo had Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) in 2015 which cauterizes the nerves but is not permanent. Typically RFA results are good for about a year and she has been 18 months since the RFA on her left side. Jo says it feels like they are alternatively driving a stake and then a red hot poker as they cauterize the nerves. Here is a photo from the web showing the 4 leads that they use.
Jo had the RFA on her left side in November and will have one on her right side later this month.
We'll keep you posted.
Till next time,
Bob and Jo
Let Jo know that she is in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for really good results.
