CHRISTMAS, MEDICAL AND SAN ANTONIO

Currently in Kerrville TX (Low 33 Mostly Cloudy; A Little Rain High 44)

We celebrated Christmas earlier this week. Here is one of the Christmas windows at the Schreiner Department Store. We really liked the red trees.

On the medical front Jo continued her physical therapy. Some positive news on the lumps removed from JJ (the cat) and Bob. JJ's lump was cancerous but slow growing and unlikely to metastasize elsewhere. Enough surrounding tissue was removed and tested clean so hopefully all is well with JJ. Bob's lumps were cysts. JJ and Bob are recovering nicely.

Celebrating Jo's birthday month began a little earlier than normal this year with a trip to San Antonio for a free meal at First Watch. We also had a 50% off coupon at Carrabbas that expires soon along with a return at Costco so we made a day of it. Jo's birthday is next month so we look forward to more freebies for her. As far as going to San Antonio on Friday Jo tried to tell Bob that there would be more than normal crowds due to Iowa State being in the Alamo Bowl.

Bob thought that since we 16 miles northwest of the Alamodome and on game day it wouldn't be a problem. Well, Jo was right. We walked in and there is a couple with Iowa State t-shirts on waiting. Four tables in the place had Iowa State people and some more followed us in.

We woke up the last couple mornings thinking we were back in Missouri. At least the Iowa State visitors got some great weather before the Alamo Bowl. Bob is a little bummed that Iowa State lost in the Alamo Bowl. First of all congratulations to Washington State, great team with a great coach and incredible quarterback. But if you are looking for a silver lining it's that Iowa State proved once again it can play with the big boys now. Without 3 turnovers that lead to 14 points and without 10 penalties, 7 of which were false starts, this 2 point defeat MAY have turned out differently. The future is certainly bright as the majority of starters were underclassmen now with a bitter taste in their mouths just how close they came this year.

It's on to college basketball leading up to March Madness!!

Till next time,

Bob and Jo
