Wichita KS (Low 51 Morning Storms)
Oklahoma City OK (Partly Sunny 69)
We are waiting for the weather to clear so we can head to Oklahoma City this morning.
Tucked inside the Coleman Outlet Store in downtown Wichita is the Coleman Musuem. At the turn of the last century W. C. Coleman saw potential in the new gas powered lights so in 1905 he demonstrated his first one.
From there they went into all things camping and to this day continually make great products. We recognized a few in this case especially the plastic drink one.
We did not know that they were big into coffee makers.
This caught our eye, a lamp with an asbestos shade.
Coleman stoves were used in WWII
In the 1930s they added electrical items.
Some more from our visit, it was great to take this trip down memory lane.
We then of course had to buy a few things from the outlet :-)
We were happy to be able to do this sightseeing and breakfast and other shopping between the thunderstorms yesterday.
Till next time,

ON THE ROAD AGAIN - TO WICHITA KANSAS
Wichita KS (Low 58 Storms High 74)
The turret for the Winegard automatic satellite dish and the limit switches for the Big Foot automatic levelers were installed as planned on Monday. So Tuesday we packed and headed 200 miles to Wichita. Pretty uneventful drive except a very good pumpkin donut and pumpkin iced coffee at a Dunkin Donuts in the travel plaza along I-35. This has been the best pumpkin year ever!
We did get a brief scare on our new refrigerator, the freezer temperature was higher than we thought it should be.
After all the fun that Judy from Travels With Emma has with her residential refrigerator we were a little worried. Turns out that Bob needs to work on his bungee cord tie down technique as the freezer drawer opened during the trip. We made sure the freezer drawer was closed and turned on power freeze and in no time it was back to normal.
We just have a couple of nights in Wichita since we spent more time than we planned at our last spot waiting on parts. It's off to Oklahoma City tomorrow for a couple of nights and then McKinney Texas for some new day/night shades from MCD Innovations.
Till next time,
Bob and Jo

MORE DELAYS AND THE WEATHER IS GETTING COLDER :-(
Belton MO (Low 30 Sunny High 56)
Just when we thought we were going to be able to leave and head south before it got too cold we have had more delays. The ongoing saga on our Winegard automatic satellite dish continues. We thought we had it diagnosed over the phone and what was needed was a new SWM8 switch. When the new switch was installed we still had problems so further troubleshooting resulted in a bad turret. Since it was faster to get a new one instead of the old one repaired. Well we thought it was going to be faster to get a new one but it sure takes a long time (9 days) to go 300 miles. Turret is "planned" to be delivered and then installed on Monday so we can leave on Tuesday.
Also being worked on Monday is limit switches for the Big Foot automatic levelers. Good news is that the switches have already been received.
Even though we are anxious to hit the road we are a little sad to be leaving our wonderful camping site.
Our friends Bob and Wilma have a 50a full hookup outside their outbuilding. When we came into town to have our Cameo worked on we emptied some of the compartments and stored them temporarily in the outbuilding. We then put the stuff back in as we reorganized.
It is incredible to have such great friends, we cannot thank them enough.

NEW DISHWASHER AS PART OF THE REPAIRS/UPGRADES
Belton MO (Low 46 Storms in the area High 70)
We struggled with the decision to get a dishwasher when we ordered the Cameo 4 years ago. We weren't sure we would be able to use the convection oven so we didn't order a dishwasher then. As time went on two things happened; the first is that we started using the propane oven as another pantry because of the second thing. The second thing being that in 4 years we probably only used the propane oven 3 times because we used and like the convection oven so much.
We figured that if we were going to be homeless for a month or so maybe we should have something to look forward to like a new dishwasher. Here is the Magic Chef propane cooktop/oven that came with the Cameo.
An in-progress shot of the Magic Chef removed and the dishwasher sliding in.
More progress is being made here, but more work needs to be done on the new cooktop and the counter is cluttered with stuff from the cabinets and island.
The work is all done.
We look forward to many dishwasher cycles in the future.
Here is a good shot of the new refrigerator and dishwasher together.
This one shows the new vinyl floor and new carpet. We had the vinyl put on both sides of the island like they are doing in the new Lifestyle RVs and the Mobile Suites that we have seen. Should be easier to keep clean as you will step on vinyl flooring instead of carpet as you enter the room.
We are very happy with the work done by A-Z Mobile RV in Paola Kansas at their shop location, and any time we have had them for mobile service. If ever in the Kansas City area we highly recommend these guys.
Till next time,
Bob and Jo

HEY IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK HOME AGAIN
Belton MO (Low 46 Sunny High 75)
Just a quick entry today. After 5 weeks of repairs, maintenance and upgrades we have moved back into our Cameo, our condo on wheels. With all the repairs, maintenance and upgrades that disorganized everything we are busy trying to get things back where they were. The work done was great and we will blog more about that later with pictures. Until then, a place for everything and everything in its place.
